Cost description The Advanced Learner Loan you would apply for is £3345 at its full, however prior learning and experience will be taken into account and reductions will be made if neccessary. There are options and payment plans to do this privately if you wish.

The VTCT Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing is a technical level qualification that provides you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work as an employed and/or self-employed hairdresser able to work on hair combining a variety of different technical skills. This qualification is ideal for those who hold a hairdressing or barbering qualification and work in a salon.

We ask that you have either Level 2 Hairdressing or some form of Hairdressing experience to enable you to complete the course to its full potential, however if you haven’t any experience discussions around a pre-requisite course prior to starting will be discussed with our recruitment team. Due to the nature of the knowledge required within this course and project and exams to be completed we ask that you have a Functional Skills English Level 2 or equivalent also.

There are four mandatory units in this qualification for you to study including: - Creatively style and dress hair - Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques - Creatively colour and lighten hair - Provide client consultation services You will then be able to select a minimum of two optional units from a range of 10 units which includes: provide hair extension services; create a variety of permed effects; hair colour correction services.

You will be required to attend one of our Oracle Training centres (Rotherham or Doncaster) one day per week to complete your training. You will have a practical session where you will work on blockheads and live models to enable you to work through your course. You will have a theory session where you will gain all knowledge and skills required to enable you carry out assessments, pass exams and complete research and projects.

You will be required to wear all black (we offer a t-shirt for uniform that can be purchaed prior to starting) You will need a lever arch file, dividers and basic stationary. You will also be required to buy a kit if you do not have one already - these can be purchased from Oracle. We expect that students some come prepared to learn and basic tools are neccessary to enable you to this.

You will be assessed practically through observation assessments, video evidence and building up a 'look book' of practical work you have completed. Your theory knowledge will be tested by multiple choice online exams and research and projects.

When you complete this qualification you will be are eligible to become a State Registered Hairdresser (SRH) with The Hairdressing Council.
